The first step is to contact the recruitment team. They will then request that you complete an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement). Once this has been returned, we will forward on the sales prospectus for the practice. If you are then interested in taking your interest further, we will speak to you and arrange for you to attend a Discovery Day. We will then then put you in contact with the vendor for further discussions and eventual negotiations.

We would need your CV and Personal Information Form to assess your suitability before giving names and contact details out. We will give you access to the whole network, after you have attended a Discovery Day, and we would encourage you to speak to at least six franchisees as part of your research. We will also identify those franchisees in the network who have purchased franchise resales so you can speak to them and hear of their experiences.

We are able to demonstrate many examples in the network where a new franchisee has brought in new energy and ideas to an established practice. Along with their experience, we often see strong growth once the new franchisee has settled in the business, and this can be a combination of opening second or third shops and offices, growth in clients, sales and fee bank from new marketing activity.

A resale will require a greater degree of people management skills, as you must be able to engage and manage people immediately, as there may already be an established team in place. It is important that you demonstrate high levels of commercial awareness, business acumen, energy, motivation, communications skills and the discipline to follow a proven, successful business model.

Resales are part of the business cycle of any long-established successful franchise network. When our resales come on the market, these are most often a result of our franchisees now wishing to retire having built up their businesses. We see resales as both a positive to us, the franchisor and for the franchisee. For us, it is an opportunity to get fresh faces and energy into the network, and for the franchisee, it enables them to realise their investment having built an asset with TaxAssist.
